Couples and Relationship Therapy

I hold a Gestalt Certificate in Couples and Relationship Therapy, which means I blend Gestalt’s phenomenological and dialogical methods with a sharp focus on systemic and attachment dynamics. I work with those in a range of relationship configurations experiencing difficulty, including –

  • Romantic/sexual partnerships (spanning the GSRD spectrum)

  • Family members

  • Co-founders and business/work relationships

  • Friendships

My role is to support partners to increase awareness and understanding of one another in their present-moment experiences. By becoming a third-party in these dynamics, I help couples and those in other relationship arrangements to identify communication patterns, while exploring their emotions, so that new strategies for connection, empathy and understanding can be reached. Diversity, intercultural and intersectional understandings in relationship strongly underpin my approach.

Happy Couple

The quality of your life ultimately depends on the quality of your relationships.

Couple in love in the mountains

Couples and relationship therapy can give you and your partner the opportunity to discuss and resolve issues related to several aspects of your relationship, which can include:

  • Roles in the relationship: I can help you examine the roles you and your partner play in the relationship and identify unhealthy dynamics, and address differences in expectations.

  • Beliefs and values: I can work with you and your partner to discuss your beliefs, values, and religious sentiments and the implications of these aspects on your daily lives.

  • Finances: I can help promote open dialogue and transparency around income and spending habits, which is often a source of conflict in relationships.

  • Children: If you and your partner are not on the same page about whether or not you want to have children or how you would like to raise them, couples therapy can help you communicate these concerns. It can also help with stressors like difficulty conceiving, adopting children and deciding to remain child-free.

  • Familial relationships & friendships: I can help you work out issues stemming from conflicts with family members and friends.

  • Sex and intimacy: If you and your partner are having issues related to sex and intimacy, or infidelity, I can offer a safe space for you to share your feelings and needs.

  • Health issues: Physical or mental health issues can be hard on you and your partner. I can help you deal with the stress this puts on your relationship.

  • External stressors: Therapy can also help you and your partner deal with conflicts caused by external factors, like work for instance, that can put stress on your relationship.

My fee is a sliding scale from £100 -150 per pairing/polycule for 75-minute sessions.
